A New Look
The Beauty in His Grip 2.0
On Monday I wrote that I would be making some updates to this “neglected little blog”. If you have made your way to this post, you will see that things are indeed different! Most obvious is my template remodel. If you happened to have peeked in here over the past two days, you might have seen quite a mess. However, I think I have it all worked out now. I’m just going to tweak it here and there, but for the most part, I think it is set. I had to go on quite the learning curve as I navigated through all the code and confusing aspects of a new layout. However, I’m pretty excited about the new look! Please feel free to explore the site and check out all things that are new, including the Beauty in His Grip’s new Instagram account! (Youtube will be added later!)
Secondly, and most importantly, I’ve started writing again! Yea! I think that is the most exciting part of my updates! It feels so good to have already shared much of what has been on my heart and I’m looking forward to continuing this as the year progresses. If this is your first visit here this week, I encourage you to check out my recent posts “I Choose The Latter” and “Job Lived”! They will explain a bit about my absence over the past year as well as my new outlook toward life and the plan God has for me!
Finally, as we head into the second weekend of 2016 (can you believe that?) I want to leave you with a few words of encouragement, and what better place to get them than from God’s word?
Living fully in His presence,
Joan

Congratulations on the blog page update, Joan!! It looks awesome! Kudos on your persistence and learning to do it all yourself, too! I am SO excited to check in often to see what other sweet posts you will be sharing!! Love the encouraging verse, too...God truly does make know to us the path to joy and many pleasures in Him!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ann! How fun that you are my first visitor since my blog update! I'm hoping to post a couple of times a week, so stay tuned!
DeleteLove you, sweet friend!

Looks fabulous! I totally don't have patience (or interest) in that coding stuff. Happy Friday! Happy Weekend!!
ReplyDeleteLol! But your blog already looks fantastic! So, don't need to make any updates! But, thank you for your encouragement! Hope you have a great weekend, too!

Wow, Joan, what a beautiful site you have here! I'm so happy there has been some healing for you and a resurgence in your desire to write. We will get through this life with a crown if we do not grow weary, but continue with patience. Love to you, dear friend.
ReplyDeleteAw! Thanks Gleniece! I did have fun getting this new template up and running. Over the years, my blog has been a creative outlet for me and I am so glad to be back! And you know what? I'm thinking about those "ripples" that I mentioned in my post a couple of days ago...and YOU are one of them! I never would have "met" you if not for the trial I went through. Your loving and encouraging words in that email were such a soothing balm to my heart. So, thank you! What a blessing! Love to you, too! Joan
DeleteGlad to see you back up and writing! Looks good!

DeleteEnjoy your weekend! Blessings, Joa
I have just been going through the same messy process, Joan, and I must say I would love to have my site come out as bright and classy looking as yours does. Venturing into code, though... ooh. For now I've just settled for "a little better, maybe." Beautiful job!
ReplyDeleteHi Sylvia! Your blog looks nice! It is frustrating trying to figure it all out, though, isn't it? Thanks for the encouragement about mine! I wanted something new and fresh for the new year.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Barbie! I'm so glad you like it! Looking forward to walking with God together in 2016!
DeleteI love the new look, Joan! The first thing I noticed were the large and colorful pictures in the header (not sure what that is all called). Great new look...it's kind of like when you clean your workspace and think, "Ok, now I can write again!" Sometimes you have to clean your online workspace too! Looking forward to reading more from you. Glad to have you back.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree! I wanted a new look for the new year...a clean slate, so to speak! I'm glad you like the new template! And, I'm so glad to be back writing again!!

P.S. I "think" those pictures on the top is called a "slider". :)
