Courage
These Next Steps
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
God, you are my strength and the Rock upon which I stand. Thank you for giving me the courage to trust you and your plan for my life. So often I have been too afraid to move forward, even when I have felt encouragement from you, because staying where I am is what I know. But my current comfort zone is not where you want me to stay! I have been waiting for you to do something before I act, but now realize that you have been doing something all along…it is I who have been idle. You have been growing and shaping me, Lord, and preparing the path before me. I am so thankful that your work is never wasted! Thank you for walking beside me as I take these next steps of faith into my future! In Jesus' name, amen.

It can be so difficult to take that "leap of faith", can't it? But we can have courage for God will never leave us! He'll smooth out the path before us! Happy New Year!

Hi Joan
ReplyDeleteThank you for your post. I am so thankful our Lord goes before us :)
God bless x
He gives us the courage to keep going...just knowing He is with us! I am trusting Him!

Powerful message for the new year, Joan. I too have been idle too long and really need to trust Him to move me forward in life.
ReplyDeleteEven though I may not say it, I know I need to pray for courage, as well. Especially as the new year begins, as I start a new job, beginning this coming Monday. I try to cover up the fear, but deep down, I am fearful of what the job will require of me. Courage in the Lord is what carries us and allows us to walk in faith! Great prayer for the start of a new year ahead!
ReplyDeleteBlessings! Ann
What a beautiful prayer to begin the New Year with. I'm so thankful He walks beside me.
ReplyDeleteWe can count on Him to stay by our sides no matter what! What a blessing!
ReplyDeleteHi Ann! Yes, with any change, we need courage from the Lord. Just remember that He'll stay with you and give you the strength you need to handle anything that comes your way! Happy New Year!!

Sometimes it can be difficult...but courage begins with prayer! I want to start each morning, offering myself to the Lord and receiving the courage and strength that I know He is offering me! 2014 will be a good year!

Once again dear friend...I love your prayer. He is SO good. Just thinking about how good He is as I read your prayer again gives me goosebumps and makes me so grateful I no longer try to walk through life without Him.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to link up! Next week...I will be posting on Monday so I will be sure to join in for your link-up.
I'm so grateful for our friendship. You are a blessing.
Much love,
Beth
Oh...today would have been a good day for a snowman (the snow may have been too light though). We have lots of it though. It is STILL snowing.
Oooh! You can send some of the snow (or rain) out this way! I'm afraid we are heading for a drought in Northern California if we don't get some rain soon!
ReplyDeleteYes, God is so good! I love how He will encourage us and prepare us for what is ahead. I am trusting Him and His path for me in 2014!
