Last week I wrote that my word for this new year is courage. I am asking God to help me have courage to follow Him in 2014! I know that it takes trust in God to get out of the boat and take those steps of faith along the path He has laid out for us. One of the ways I am going to apply courage from God to my life is to focus on scriptures that surround the word and its meaning. I’ve chosen twelve verses from God’s word to meditate on, one for each month of the year, and have created a guideline to help. I’d love it if you would join me as I delve deeper into God’s instruction not to fear and to trust Him! I’m excited about the journey He is going to take me on!

Below is a link to my Monthly Scripture Focus (12 in all). Each printable has the focus verse for the month and some helpful suggestions for instilling the verse on our hearts. I have also

included a photo/verse printable for January and will add one for each following month in the weeks to come. My thought is the picture will give a visual aide and be a good reminder of the verse’s truth throughout the month. Stay tuned as I’m also going to add more helpful resources in the coming months!

I’d love to hear if you’ll be joining me in this and then hear your thoughts throughout the year!

  7. I love this idea. I'm working on compiling scripture that I want to focus on this year related to my One Word but I love the idea of creating images to go with the scripture too. Thank you for the inspiration. Much love to you. I'm excited to be joining your link up for the first time. I will be by later tonight to visit others. :)

  8. Welcome, Beth! I'm excited to see you linked up here today! (And, by the way, I just read your post and know that many will be encouraged by it!) I'm glad you were inspired by my scripture focus resources. I'm going to be adding, adjusting and improving things throughout the year, but my main goal is to have God's word firmly planted in my heart!

  10. Today beauty is found in the way that God speaks to us - even if what He has to say is hard to process.

Thanking Him for my *word* for the year - and trusting Him to work it out in my life and my heart. Even if I don't understand how He's going to do it!!

    GOD BLESS!

I believe that absolutely nothing is as important as hiding God's Word in our hearts. It's our only protection against the attacks of an enemy who wants to feed us lies. I lead a Facebook group of precious women who memorize two Scriptures each month and fellowship around the Word on that page. What a privilege to have the Sword of the Spirit in our hands and in our hearts.

  13. I totally agree! Sometimes I think that many of us may think it is too hard to memorize scripture, but it is actually surprising how much "sticks" when we read, meditate on and pray God's word!

    Blessings Donna!
