God's Faithfulness
Friday's Word
Welcome to Friday's Word where I share one of my journal entries from the previous week as I go through the Bible and meditate on God's Word. I have only been using this method for pondering and savoring scripture for a few weeks, but already I have found the time spent to be highly motivating and encouraging! His word is reaching my heart in a new and deep way.
Here is my process:
"He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart." (NIV)
Here is my process:
- Choose a verse and surrounding passage
- Look it up and read it in at least two versions
- Read the associated devotional, if applicable (I’m going through the NIV Women’s Devotional Bible 2)
- Choose a word or phrase that jumps out at you
- Think, ponder, absorb (take time here)
- Write out thoughts and ideas regarding the word or scripture
- Pray
- Apply
"He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart." (NIV)
"He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection." (NLT)

We receive so much more from Scripture when we take time to ponder it! Thanks for sharing your method and insight.
ReplyDeleteI think so often, we "zip" through God's word and miss so much. But when we take a moment to really absorb and relish Scripture, the blessings are immeasurable!

P.S. Sorry I didn't make the Weekend Brew link up. I was out of internet range over the weekend. I'll go check to see if it's still open!
Some of my favorite Bible verses are about eagles, and this one is an awesome example of His love and protection! What a great and awesome God we have!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the imagery in being protected by His feathers...and in other verses of being lifted up on eagle's wings! He is our protector and shield...what a blessing!
