I want to thank all of my blogging friends for your prayers and kind words during these difficult few weeks.  Though we are not yet through this valley, with God’s strength and your encouragement, I am able to face each day with renewed faith.  Thank you.  For those of you who are visitors and new friends through this blog, my dad is on his final journey right now.  The destination is a beautiful place where there is no more pain…and no more suffering.  When he arrives, his body will be whole and his heart at peace.  This place is full of amazing love and wonders beyond what our minds can dream of.  It is a place that Jesus has lovingly prepared for my dad…and for us.

“In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2).

I am happy that my dad is going to this incredible House and my heart rejoices, but I will miss him.  I will miss him more than I can even express.  But, I am taking comfort in the fact that our Savior loves him even more than I can imagine and is waiting for him with open arms.

This morning, as I write this, I am praising God for loving us so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that we may spend eternity with Him in paradise (John 3:16).  Though this is a sad time while I wait, I am also praising God that my dad is almost Home.

Trusting our Savior,

I've been thinking of you and your family and praying for you Joan.  It is wonderful that we can care for one another and pray even though we've not yet met in person.

  8. Praying for God to wrap you and your family in His comfort, grace, love, and peace.  I walked this final journey with my Mom almost a year ago.  There is tremendous pain and sorrow, but there is also peace when Jesus comes to carry your beloved one the final few steps.

  10. Prayers for you, your dad, your family. It is so good to know our loved one will be with our dear Lord, but oh, the getting there can be so rough sometimes. We are experiencing this same kind of thing, as my husband's sister is nearing home. God bless and keep you all.

  12. Hi Tracy!

Yes, it is such a comfort to know that Dad will be with Jesus.  I pray that in the last moments of your dad's life he accepted Christ.  He may not have told anyone...he may have only made that decision in the last second, in his heart.  I pray that is so.  Blessings, Joan

  29. I am late in getting around to reading your post today, so I'm not sure if you are still waiting for your dad's move into his new destination or he has arrived yet. What a bitter-sweet time for you, Joan! Your heart aches to know you will miss your dad so much, but the sweet knowledge that he will be/or is in such a beautiful place is a sweet comfort. My prayers are with you, my friend in Christ!!!
