Welcome back to another week of "Sharing His Beauty"!  I trust that you have all felt God's hand guiding you as He led you through your week.  My week started out with a meeting and a job offer that would enable me to serve God in a place that is bringing His word to many!  I feel absolutely humbled and blessed to have this new opportunity to serve!  A few years ago I worked in the Church, and have been hopeful that God would provide something for me again.  Since our move north I have been praying for the right place for me to use the gifts He has given me.  I have been trusting God for His timing and direction, knowing that if there were to be a place for me to serve Him in this way again, He would provide it…and today, I am praising God for His faithfulness!

In my last post, I wrote about the different skills and gifts that God has given us and how God will use what little we think we may have to offer Him, and multiply it for His glory.  Today, I want to highlight His timing.  God always has a plan, but His plan may not be immediate.  It can often take time to develop.  The temptation is to rush ahead when we are enthusiastic about something, but often then, “our” plans don’t work out.   “The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps” (Proverbs 16:9).

Three years ago, when we moved away from the town we had lived in for nearly twenty years, I would have loved to jump right into what I thought the “perfect” position would be.  But, God had other plans.  He was already preparing a place for me, I just didn’t know about it!  I can see now, that God’s timing is perfect.  When I offered myself to the Lord to use as He saw fit I felt sure that He would take me up on it!  I also knew that it might not happen right away, for God’s timing is not my own.  “For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay” (Habakkuk 2:3).

As we wait for God’s plan to unfold, it is important to look to the Lord and ask Him to show us His will, for living in the center of God’s will is the most important place to be! As we focus on Him and on His purposes, we can be sure that He will lead us to open doors.  Then, through faith, we can walk through with confidence, knowing that God is leading us.

I am so excited to begin this new part of my journey!  God has been so good to me.  He has blessed me in more ways than I can count.  Through both trials and joys, God has shown His faithfulness over and over.  I know that His plans are always good!  “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).  And my prayer is this, that as I serve the Lord with all my heart and soul, He will use my offering to bring encouragement and support to those I will serve alongside in His ministry to bring Christ’s word to a hurting world.
