If you're like I am, you may have several different Bibles in your home.  The other day, I opened up one that was my favorite back in 2004.  While flipping through its pages, a piece of paper fell out upon which I had written a prayer and my thoughts on trust in God and His promises.  When I read what I had written years ago, my heart was stirred because even (and especially) in the changing seasons in my life right now, I was reminded that no matter what age we are or what stage of life we are living, God's truths never change.  He is forever steadfast in His faithfulness to us.  I pray that you are blessed with an encouraged heart as you read what was saved within the pages of my well-loved Bible:

I trust you, Father.  You know what is best for me.  I accept your love and your promises.  Strengthen me to continue to follow your will.  I don't need to understand your plan for me.  I simply need to trust and obey.

  • I trust that your way, not mine, is best.  (Proverbs 3:5-6)
  • I trust that you love me.  (John 3:16)
  • I trust that you are faithful.  (Lamentations 3:23)
  • I trust that love covers a multitude of sins.  (1 Peter 4:8)
  • I trust that I am forgiven. (Lamentations 22)
  • I trust that you will place me on a firm foundation.  (1 Peter 5:10)
  • I trust that you care about me.  (1 Peter 5:7)
  • I trust that as I draw near to you, you will draw near to me.  (James 4:8)
  • I trust that as I grow to know you more, you will give me everything I need to live a godly life.  (2 Peter 1:3)
  • I trust that because I love you, even though I may stumble, I will not fall. (Psalm 37:24)
  • I trust that you hear my prayers.  (Psalm 5:3)
  • I trust that you sent your Son to suffer and die for me.  (1 Peter 1:20)
  • I trust that you have set me free.  (John 8:36)
  • I trust that you will give me wisdom.  (James 3:13)
  • I trust that there is wonderful joy ahead.  (1 Peter 1:6)
  • I trust that you will bless me when I patiently endure testing.  (James 1:12)
  • I trust that you will give me more and more strength to stand up against evil.  (James 4:6)
  • I trust that you are greater than my heart.  (1 John 3:20)
  • I trust that you call me your child because you love me.  (I John 3:10)
  • I trust that you are working in me, giving me the desire to obey you and the power to do what pleases you.  (Philippians 2:13)
  • I trust that Christ is becoming more and more at home in my heart.  (Ephesians 3:17)
  • I trust that you will fill me with the fullness of life.  (Ephesians 3:19)
  • I trust that you comfort me so I can comfort others.  (2 Corinthians 1:4)
  • I trust that you cause everything to work together for good.  (Romans 8:28)
  • I trust that your word holds true.  (Psalm 34:4)
  • I trust that I am freely pardoned by you.  (Psalm 34:22)
  • I trust that your love is unfailing.  (Lamentations 3:22)
  • I trust that you will light my path.  (Psalm 119:105)
  • I trust that you will not leave me.  (Jeremiah 17:16)
  • I trust that you will rescue and protect me.  (Psalm 91:3)
  • I trust that nothing...no nothing, can  separate me from your love.  (Romans 8:38)
Thank you, Father, for your word to me.  I pray that each day I remember your faithfulness and your love.  I trust you, Lord.  I will trust and obey.

In Jesus' precious name, amen.

Living for Him,

  1. Trust and obey ...that's what I'm learning this year. I think of the children's song by that name; so simple and yet so profound. Even as an adult it helps me to remember.

I love that you included the many Scriptures that remind me of the Truth. How thankful I am that He never changes and these Truths stand firm. We must walk by faith and believe. I needed the reminder this morning and every morning.

    Love you,

  2. Great post today!! Thank you....

  3. Such a wonderful list of "trust-worthy" verses. Would it be OK if I copied them for my faith notebook?

My favorite? I trust that NOTHING can ever separate me from His Love!

    GOD BLESS, Joan.

  4. You got a lot of trust going on there. Good post.

  5. Hi Joan,

I just stumbled on to your blog....and it is wonderful! :) I read quite a few of your posts and have been truly blessed! You are very gifted writer!

  6. Just this morning while out walking, Shannon Wexelberg's version of "Tis so Sweet" cycled around on my IPOD. I found myself meditating on that one phrase... "oh for grace to trust him more."

More trust. That's what we need. He can be trusted to follow through with all of his promises. He is the King of follow through. He can't help himself!

    Shalom to you today.

  7. What wonderful scripture references for all those things that come our way. Enjoyed visiting.

  8. Amen to that, Joan. Powerful passages that I should write on my heart. Thank you for sharing and your encouragement.

  9. God has really been reminding me that faith = trust. I love this post Joan. Maybe I need to print it out and read it daily! xo

  10. Princess Jo Warrior just posted this today on FB. Wow, this is incredibly moving. I endured an 18 month post-partum breakdown with depression and anxiety and was healed...and now the Lord is connecting my husband and I with a couple going through the same thing. These declarations of trust are such a powerful reminder of his sovereignty and goodness. Thank you!
