On this first week of my participation in “Thankful Thursdays” I’d like to thank the Lord for blessing me with a beautiful sister in Christ. My friend, Tricia, has been beside me during the good times and the bad. She has loved me even when I was unlovable and has never treated me with anything other than kindness.

When God brought Tricia into my life I was new to our church and didn’t know very many people, but she always made me feel welcome. Her gentle spirit and sweet ways instantly drew me to her. It wasn’t long before I discovered that she had the gift of discernment and could always sense when something was on my mind or if I needed a hug. She always shows Christ’s compassion and has always spoken the truth to me in love. When I have gotten off track, God has used this wonderful Christian sister to point me back in the right direction. She has helped me through many challenges with her spiritual wisdom and prayer.

Her devotion to Christ has been an inspiration to me. Tricia is a dedicated and faithful servant to our Lord and is constantly serving Him even beyond her own abilities. She relies on the Lord for her strength and is unaware of how much He uses her to bless others. I know that when she comes face to face with our Savior, she will weep tears of joy as she hears the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

The other day she gave me a book mark which reads: “The best antiques are old friends.” I'd like to add… “The best friends are those who love the Lord!” Tricia loves the Lord with all her heart, mind and soul. I am truly blessed to call her my friend.

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” (Proverbs 17:17)
